The new Pärnu Stadium grandstand building shapes the parking area along Ranna puiestee and the forecourt into a unified urban square that serves as the main access point for large public events. Its architecture draws from the traditions of Pärnu as a resort town, expressed through a restrained character, clear composition and simple architectural language.
Located along the stadium’s longest side, which is exposed to strong seaside winds, the elongated volume of the grandstand also functions as a wind barrier. Setbacks along the street façade widen the pedestrian promenade and create an entrance plaza in front of the public access points. The façade is defined by horizontal and vertical timber louvers: on the Kuuse Street side, the vertical rhythm forms a dense windscreen, gradually transforming into horizontal shading elements toward Lehe Street.
The building’s functional layout is clear and efficient. Spectators access the grandstand via a ramp, from which they descend to their seats; public restrooms and kiosks are located on the same level. Entrances on the ground floor serve both the sports facilities — including athletes’ changing rooms and training areas — and the accommodation located on the second floor. A separate entrance from the Lehe Street corner provides access to a café or commercial unit that can serve both athletes and city residents. The second floor accommodates a hostel and the stadium secretariat.
